Beef Bucks Spins Out of 2016

Beef Bucks, Inc. was happy to award two $1000 Beef Buck prizes as gift tag winners on America’s #1 game show – Wheel of Fortune – in December, 2016.  Beef Bucks has appeared as a gift tag on the program for a number of years and are excited when they are able to award “beef” to winners hitting the marked spaces with their spin.

Beef Gets A Lift!

Beef Bucks, Inc. held its 14th Annual Beef Bucks Golf Classic on August 19, 2016 in Brandon, SD. On this over-cast day, there were over 50 teams of four golfers and 40+ hole sponsors playing with producers, corporate personnel, financial people, retailers, and consumers. After a day of playing 18 holes of golf, all enjoyed a 16 oz. steak fry furnished by National Beef again this year followed by a live auction offering items from John Deere, Henry Repeating Arms, Badlands Motor Speedway, Minnesota Twins, Johnson Brothers Liquor Company, SDSU Jackrabbit Football, and Texas Roadhouse.

Action on the course was recorded, in part, by a photo-taking drone flying over the event. Bob Montross said, “With the drone there was no tree to hide behind.” Bonuses for the golfers were sponsored by Randy Fenske (Fenske Cattle Company) – poker run, Prostrollo All-American Auto Mall – hole in one opportunity for the lease of a Chevy pick-up, Nichols Fencing – pin prizes on each hole.

Teams placing first in the four flights were: Caliber Creative (Championship Flight), Nelson Insurance
(First Flight), First Bank & Trust (Second Flight) and Ag PHD/Hefty Seeds (Third Flight).

The 15th Annual Golf Classic is set for Friday, August 18 in Brandon, SD. Beef Bucks, Inc. is a non-profit organization established for the purpose of beef promotion and consumer education. Proceeds from the golf event are used for maintenance of the program, promotion opportunities, and the scholarship fund. For more information on the organization, visit www.beefbucks.org.

Beef Bucks Loses Founder

Beef Bucks lost one of the program’s founders on May 20, 2016. Delina Nagel passed away after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Her adult life was filled with beef education and promotion. In the Fall of 1997, she helped with the establishment of the Beef Bucks program and worked, diligently, to make the program what it is today. An example of her dedication – the day word was received of her death, the postman delivered information from her on a project for Beef Bucks. A true beef industry promoter to the very end! We and the industry will truly miss her.
